I like to attend small press fairs and events whenever I’m able, either as a punter or on a table myself. If you know of any events then do let me know.

“… A weekend of comix-related workshops, panels, exhibitions, and other amusements. Relax in the bar and discussion areas. Buy comics from our very select collection of stallholders. Sell your own comics via the caption table: leave them with us and we will sell them for you (for a 10% fee), leaving you free to join in the fun.” A great chance to mingle with comics creators in an relaxed setting.
I wrote a mini-report here.

“…This event is not just about selling comics, it’s about having a fantastic day out for exhibitors and visitors alike. In the large hall that we have, as well as the twenty exhibitor tables, we also have a large and comfy reading area for you to peruse your purchases or just relax, bring your pens and create works of art at our massive Sketching Table.” Plus a DJ, animation and a ‘Canvas Corner’ for some on-the-spot art activities.
I’ll be here as a punter rather than as an exhibitor but it sounds great.

Sunday February 1st: Alternative Press Fair
12pm to 6pm (music to late)
St Aloysius Social Centre,
Phoenix Road,
London, NW1 1TA
http://comicsandzines.wordpress.com/
Bringing together the worlds of alternative comics, zines, self-produced art-books, poetry and diy/punk culture for one amazing day, like a great colourful blacmange that you can’t eat. Meet the artists, see their work, buy some if you like it. THEN relax and enjoy an exciting evening of music, song and melody, starring the Singing Sensation of the Nation, Mr. Trent Miller (& The Skeleton Jive).
See my review of the APF here.
