From the archives: Spooky poetry

The amazing Alex Milway of Mousehunter fame has written a poem for Hallowe’en which reminded me of an attempt I made a couple of years back, and from which I made a little minicomic:

Mrs McGrisly

Mrs McGrisly, your house is a sight!
With gargoyles your roof is infested,
Child-eating witches swoop madly in flight,
And your bedroom appears half-digested!

Your bathroom is home to some slippery krakens,
The Four Horsemen play bridge in the study,
And I’ve heard in the kitchen that once the sky darkens,
The cook serves the steak rather bloody!

In the garden a zombie and werewolf play “Fetch”,
An undeniably heart-warming scene!
And although your mummy’s a moth-eaten wretch,
On your house I am ever so keen.

It’s amazing! Sublime! A marvel to see!
A spectacle really quite stellar!
“If you think that’s impressive,” says Mrs McG,
“You should see what I keep in the cellar…”
